Activities:

Students will access different websites provided to them through links that the teacher has placed on Edmodo. The websites will contain information on different careers. Students will explore different careers that interest them and determine what training and/or education is needed. Students will then create a concept map which will show that they understand the different steps in reaching their career goals. Students enrolled in Akron Public Schools have the option of choosing the high school they would like to attend based on their career pathway. Students will explore the Akron Public Schools website to explore the course offerings at each high school to determine which path they will take. Once a career path is determined and a concept map is completed, the student will turn in the electronic concept map to the assignment box where it will be graded. Students will also post a reflection on what career they chose and why.

Assessment:

Students will be assessed through their creation of the concept map according to the rubric. Students will also be graded on their reflection that they provide in the discussion portion of Edmodo.
